Recently, a friend told me a clever little way to take advantage of the ‘People Who Viewed Your Profile’ feature in LinkedIn. It’s very easy to implement and is low hanging fruit that it wouldn’t make sense NOT to implement.

Especially because it’s free.

Here are the results I saw after making this simple change:

Now you might be wondering, “Who cares about LinkedIn views?”

Let me provide some context: the new views that you’re adding are all people that have visited your website (or a specific section of your website).

For example, for my marketing agency, I can target all people that have either filled out a lead form or visited a service page.

Now, I’m able to place an actual face to the people that are interested in my services. Now that I have more context to the person, I can decide if it makes sense to reach out on my own or not.

If you have an e-commerce store, you can target people that have visited your checkout page but perhaps didn’t purchase. Then if they look like a big time buyer on LinkedIn, you can try to reach out to see how you can help.

See where this is going?

So here’s how it works:

Step 1: Get a LinkedIn Premium account. You can get a free 30 day trial to test out if this is worth it for you or not.

Step 2: Place an iframe code with your LinnkedIn profile information.

Here’s how mine would look:

That’s it!

Here’s the other thing: on Facebook, most of the time people aren’t using their personal e-mails. But on LinkedIn, they are!

Once you connect with them, you’ll be able to reach them on their personal e-mail. And most personal e-mails are connected to Skype (if you choose to contact them there).
